View Full Version : Using Mograph clones in AE

I have a Cloner object with a light in it which duplicates it 6 times. It moves along a spline and it has a random effector for spacing and a formula for random movement. I want to export each light as a separate object so I can use them with Trapcode Particular. Is this possible without baking the mograph object?

this thread might help:

pre-anders supplies a set-up to get clone position info over to AE - there are a few versions of the set-up so read the whole thread

Perfect.

I am using a Matrix set to 3 x 3 x 1. This has a couple of effectors attached to give random position and movement to the points. This is then aligned to a spline and taken on a journey along it. I then use the Tracer on this Matrix object to see the trajectory of the points which gives me a good idea of the shape that the matrices are tracing. I have then made an xpresso function that takes a set of 9 light objects called Motion Path 1 thru 9 and attaches these objects using a data node to each of the Matrices on the Matrix object. I simply change the count in each data instance to which point I want the light attached to and send the points Global Matrix to the lights Gobal Matrix. So the Tracer is really only used for visualisation of the arcs I am trying to create.

I shall then export this to after effects and set up my particular light trails there. I am not sure about Motion Paths as yet but I am sure it won't take me too long to work this part out

Thanks for the link
