Title: Dominance War III - Treant Invoker
Name: Valri Viala
Country: Canada
Software: 3ds max, Maya, mental ray, Photoshop, ZBrush

This is my entry for the third Dominance War. He is a Treant Invoker whose power is vegetation. I wanted to show that he has fierce powers and could dominate in this war!
He was modeled in Maya, sculpted in Zbrush and rendered in 3DS Max. He has 8894 tri's.

Very cool work indeed .

The only crit I can do is that there is a lack of lighting work on your model.

Lighting seems good but, the rim light on your model seems too low compared to the light I see in the background.
It lacks some fill cold light on your model too, due to night environment.

Other than that, good job man ;)

Thanks for the crit, really appreciate it. I was unsure with the lighting so you can probably tell that's my weakest area. I made the backlight the strongest of my lights but it doesn't show up the way I would like it to. Not sure how to get that real backlit look. Good idea with the cold light too.

Thanks Chokmah =)

yeah, i agree that. the texture and modeling is perfect. the light is also good, but i think you can improve more. the background is good, the light is mixed. some parts are bright, some parts are dark. but you modeling is not. it's all bright so. you can increase some and decrease some. i think that can look much better. great work. :buttrock:

Thanks for the comments everyone! I agree about the lighting... perhaps with more time I could have improved it. There is always next year.

I thought I would post my Zbrush renders to show the modelling if anyone is still looking =)
