Do you see a render of your model without the fur in the render view, or do you get a blank screen? If you see the render without the fur, or if it the model is dark, it could be the enable fur setting in fur globals, or you have the fur density set too low.
The fur feedback in the viewports does not affect whether the fur renders or not. You can hide it to speed up screen refresh and the fur will still render.
Check that you have your lights set up with the fur settings. You could also try and do a batch render. Right click on your .mb file and choose render. Open the windows task manager and look for the fur renderer process.
Finally, it may also be that your scene is too complex, and that the fur is taking a long time to process. Does it work with a simple fur ball?
