Hey!

Just finished this

http://www.dalnet.se/~tudor/download/t-blobb.avi

DivX 5.0.5

An animation that took a very short time to make.
I still have some problems with messed up motion blur, which I might fix later.

Cute!

I like the simple style. But I'm goofy that way. ;)

Thank you all for your comments :)

Keith: You are actually one of my main sources for inspiration! My animations really took of after I started using the way of animating you describe on your homepage. I use it all the time now :)

Hahaha Tudor, so incredibly cute.. nice job.. only thing I would tweak a little is after the green guy comes down, and the two others turn their "heads" slowly and look at eachother, then turn their "heads" again and look at the green guy.. it seems a little robotic

That is simply GREAT!!!

Magnificent how alive it apears even without sound! WITH sound this short is a killer! Hope you will let us experience that.

Thank you all :)

I'll take the critique and work on it, and post an updated version in a while (takes about 2 days to render)

And about sound.. Anyone up for it? :) I totally suck at it and don't even own any programs to do it.

2 days to render, whitch render do you use and on whitch computer do you render?

....this may be usefull. :lightbulb

I use LW 7.5.
it takes about 1.5 minute per frame, due to the radiosity that I use. I know I could fake it, but I can live with the rendertimes.
But it is 1000 frames that needs to be rendered on my 1.8Ghz machine. I have to turn it off at night because the noise prevents me from sleeping.

Sell-out! Posting at big international forum :D

Looks great man, but just as everyone else is saying, it's the soundfx thats missing.
How about that guy that fixed the sfx on the early version? It sounded great in my ears.

VERY NICE!!

Reminded me a lot of something you used to be able to see on the Muppet Show (not saying this is a rip off or anything like that, just that this is in that same vein of simple humor).

I'd like to see some more of these characters!!

Hey man, first off, the animation as a whole looks really nice. My only beef with it, comes when the little blue guy jumps up to do a flip. I just found it a little hard to read, and only understood what he did after he did it. A basic rule in animation most of my teacher have said is to show people what the character will do, do the action, then show then what he's done. So, I have two suggestions. One, would be to lessen the motion blur and maybe slow it down some, and the other would be to add some kind of a horizon line, or some other anchoring element we can orient ourselves with. Thats all I got. Hope this could help ya. Nice job though, I love the secondary motion.

hehe...really cute and simple...me likey!

My only concern is for the blue guy especially...with the character designed the way he is, I was afraid the top of his head was gonna rip off at the back of his jawline. :scream:

Kiddin...hey, as long as he can deal with it without losing his head...:D

hehe, been forever since i've posted, but that animation....... whew. unbelievably awesome. after busting my butt on finals, it was nice to come home, dl the video, laugh ridiculously hard, show my room-mates (who also laughed ridiculously hard), then send the link to my friends (who along with any sane individual, laughed ridiculously hard).

:insane: stellar work :insane:

Hey!

I totally agree!
The main problem, I think, is the camera that totally destroys the arc of the movement.. Will try to reposition it :)

haha very nice lovingthe simplisticness (sp) ! and the rendering is great too... are you thinking of putting any sounds on there? some little hopping noises :D

Joril, i thought something was gunna fall on them too.. i think its the way the camera zooms out. still great tho !
