View Full Version : animation problems with mapped haze

While doing some animation tests with the physical sun&sky setup in maya, I ran into a problem when having the haze value mapped: The 'glow' around the sun-disk seems to vary a lot from frame to frame, probably as it is sampled against the varying haze values. This leads to really strong flickering throughout the animation, however, is is notably stronger when the sun is set really low (low light intensity/stronger influence of the haze value?).

This image shows two frames of said test overlayed and cut in the middle, so you can see what I am talking about. It may not seem strong in the still, but in an animation it is really annoying.

At first I thought it was related to the global glow settings, but the effect is still there, if I don't even export post-effects and/or uncheck auto-exposure. Any ideas?
