a quick and noob-ish questions to the pros: When we occasionally did smaller projects for DVD/PAL release, we used our el-cheapo Canopus ADVC110 in conjuction with our not-so-el-cheapo sony broadcast monitor for all color correction work. Not the best setup for sure, but it always worked out ok. It never really was a concern for us, either, as with larger projects we always worked together with a production house that did all the CC and authoring.

Now, we have a project at hand, which - as far as we can tell right now - will be done in 720p. My question is: Do new LCD/Plasma TV sets still need color space translation like we used to do or do they use the same color reproduction methods like computer screens, i.e. we would pretty much do all the CC work in front of the monitors?

Thanks in advance,
e
