Recently, we decided that trying out Max 5 vs. Viz would be a good thing... We got ahold of demos of both from our reps. I installed Viz, messed around with the arch. toolsets, modeling, etc... Then installed Max 5 and tried to run it... "Damn."

It doesn't let you run it without Authorizing it. Turns out C-Dilla sees the trial for Viz and won't let you install both demos on the same machine. Uninstalling them both doesn't work either. I was told that C-Dilla, Discreets' copy protection app, actually embeds itself into the partition information on the drive? Nice. The only way, I was told by the reps, was to reformat the drive, removing partition too... Or, buy it.

"Damn again."

Anyone else run into this? Or, find a work around to run both demos for a week? Removing registry files doesn't work either...

I guess they just don't want to sell software.

Rock on.

First off, CDilla does not embed it'self in your drive. That's a load of horse poo.

You can get rid of it, but it's a bit tricky.

I'd post this question over at discreet's forum as well..It's more along their area of expertise.

3DZ-

I posted to discreet's Max forum, that forum pales in comparison to CGTalk...

Would you care to share some insight into the whiz bang up your sleeve to get this to work? I've even gone as far to trying to add a second hard drive and installing Max to that. "DAMN STILL."

It sees the license from the MBR, I assume???

I really don't want to do another OS on the other drive... Too many hoops, not enough Scooby Snacks right now...

I would gladly pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today!?!
