xbox does not need EA "ports" anyway... not with the success of Fever and the Sega line of xbox live enabled sports titles that play vastly superior to EA's tired sports franchises...the only one that still holds strong is Madden, and that is because Tiburon actually does a good job producing it...

That may be true but with Sega searching for some kind of buyer or at least osme backing EA seems to be the best game in town. Sega may be good but they have not succeeded anywhere near what they needed to to compete with EA in terms of sports titles.
There is even the rumour that MS has been playing with the idea of buying Sega or at least it sports titles.
Which ever the case may be MS not having the EA titles will hurt it some. How much will remain to be seen. I don't see this as being a death knell for MS or anything like that......more an unpleasent bump in the road.

I have to agree with bentllama, the sega sports games in my opinion are way better then any of the EA sports games.

Could be....but I am not arguing the quality of the games. I was speaking to the economics of the situation. Sega may make better games than EA but Sega has been suffering financially. They put alot of hope behind being able to compete with EA in the sports games and unfortunately (for whatever reason) they have taken major losses on it.
So MS not having acces to EA is a blow to them. Sega can have the best game coming out but if they go belly up that leaves MS with no recognized sports franchise.....and that is a major section of the gaming market.
