View Full Version : Photoshop brushes - Grouping?
RQuack 04-15-2008, 02:55 AM Hey guys, got a quick question. I'm getting to where my Photoshop brushes I make and download are getting to be quite a bit. Is there any way to group them and name them, ideally like a folder group, just for organization and easier access? Thanks!

Ryan - There is a drop out box in the brush palete and a "preset manager" there. Click the preset manger and all of your brush will be displayed select the brush you want in the in a set and save set. This is not the best way but I think it's the only way.

Thanks man, appreciate the help but I guess what I'm looking for is organization within Photoshop's interface itself, whether it be a custom palette/template/menu or something like PS does with layers, as far as groups that I can throw brushes into so I don't have to scroll through hundreds of brushes.

There isn't anything like that - or not that I am aware of. I use the present manager as well and only load brushes I need like, foliage, abstract, textured etc.

don't think there's such a thing Ryan...best thing you can do is , as suggested above, make different sets...

I complained to adobe about this last year, and they were not very helpful. The comment I got was this is a photoediting software. I dont think they realise that there are gifted people out there that use this for painting. If you want to put the willys up them ask them if they will intregate it into project stonehenge. This happens to be the codename for CS 4. I am waiting with baited breath how much they will sting us for this next application.
I am amazed that no one has developed a plugin to manage brushes. It would be quite simple to get wet media effects by have a live link to a drop down palette and selecting a brush. Have a yes or no button for effects. These effects will link up to smart filters or palette filters. It is not hard to do. But I imagine that corel has the patent for that with there painter series.
But we live in hope
