Hello everyone ;) Here is my first attempt of creating an animation on my own , I`ve been working on it during the last two years, in my spare time, mostly for educational perposes. Being pretty much inspired by the mood of TOOL i dedicate this video to their music.
The story tells about the encounter of two ancient world characters - Assyrian gods Astarta, the goddess of sensual love & fertility and serpent -guardian Ngishzid, meet in miraculous choreographic dance. The composition and the sense of the rhythm are based on frescos characteristic for ancient Mediterranean and middle east where it was a prevalent ritual to appeal to gods through the dances of priestesses. Astarta’s Dance is delicately depicted in the style of Mannerism, known for deliberate distortion of characters proportions to accentuate characters and scenes features. The symbolic representation of sexsual act told through the language of choreography was inspired by the scandalous ballet by Vatslav Nezinski -“fauns nooning”.

I love it! you did a wonderful job. What kind of rig set up did you do on the breast? and did you have any problems with that particular set up?

Thanks!HAHA ;)sorry dude I thought you were asking about a beast not breasts. My eyes are killing me. I simply used flex modifier and animated it`s values at some points.

Speechless really! Dont think I ever saw a GC female dance like that before. Great work using those flex modifiers and that rig. :surprised If the brief was sensual, then you conveyed it thoroughly. Great work.:)

Just love the short, makes me want to find more about “fauns nooning”, seems to be quite an old ballet though. By the way was it your original idea to depict those two characters together or the plot was also inspired by some legends?

Truly impressive, congratulations! This movie is great inspiration and motivation for people like myself with our own long-term personal projects.

There are many mistakes in the character's animation (mostly weight-shifting, foot placement on the ground, and a few jerky keyframes) but the character design, stylized dancing, composition, editing, lighting and materials, etc. etc. all make up for it!

This really belongs on the front page! Best of luck on your next project,

I agree about the animation work but it's easy to overlook and sit back and just enjoy this work of art...I lovethe look of the entire production and really dig the style of the main character! 5 Stars!

Thanks everyone! It’s very pleasant to see that someone can enjoy that work as a piece of art.
2 Ori - I’m not sure actually, I took those characters and put them together mostly because I was inspired by there images.;)

Hard to say exactly what I want to. I'll just hit the main points. I thought that was very awesome. The mood was very cool (music added to it for sure) and it told a very cool story. I didn't read your description of it until afterwards and still could see what was going on.

Definitely did a great job telling the story and an overall awesome job.

Would love to see more shorts like this.

would be nice if you put up a low quality youtube link as well (like a "thumbnail" before downloading), think youd get more comments then. The movie downloads fast thou :)

Outstanding work you've done! I'm a big tool fan myself [thought couple of times for a video based on their music but never really did something:hmm:] but your animation gave me the chills :buttrock:

That was totally bad ass!!! The way you directed it was perfect in everyway, and nice choice of music went really well with the animation, I too am a huge fan of tool. Anyways the only crit that i had was in the begining while she started dancing some of her steps had a jerky snapping feel to them and some center of gravity issues, also the extreme SSS on the arms could of been toned down on her. other than those little nit picks it was really well done.

congrats 5 stars from me!
