Quote:

"Doom III's monsters also will move more like those on the big screen, says artist/animator Fred Nilsson, 28, who previously worked for DreamWorks on the hit movies Antz and Shrek. He shows how the shadow of a spiderlike monster is created in real time and shows up only when a player stumbles into its area. "There should be a lot of good, scary moments like that," he says."

Computer games cost too much. Constantly upgrading a system to play the latest game is.. too costly.

Well usually the gear needed for doing 3D CG and for playing games coincides, so it all works out..I do think the cycle of new bleeding edge graphics cards is way too fast now though. However by the time the game is fully released the cost of the required cards will be way down, I'm sure.

Anyway I like to keep it seperate..less chance of hosing your work machine with some dumb game installer, and also I spend way too much time on this frigging thing to also sit here while playing games TOO..on the console I can sit in the big chair and play on the big screen, and aggravate a different facet of CTS. :D

Doom3 might coax me back to the dark side, but have to see it in action first.
