It looks really good but it seems as though your favorite part of the creature is his face because it shows through in your work. Let me explain. The head shows incredible detail and as you work down the body the detail diminshes and ends up blurred much like the background. I say this more to encourage you because you obviously have the eye for detail and I would love to see this in full detail . you are more than capable of doing that. Dont short change yourself. Now, of course it is art so maybe you intended to do this and that is fine, but believe it or not, you could actually make this photorealistic if you just spent more time on it. Do you have a tablet as well?

Soterialive...
Yes i could do alot more details on it. But to mantain some sort of notion of speed it was a choice to keep some parts of the painting at the "sketchy" phase. And really was vital for the focus of it.
The most obvious reason for me is that i dont want the beholder to look at his toes and go.. O MY GOD thats some nifty toes.... After all the toes doesnt make this character. I think his personality is in his face...;)..
And I dont think i could ever do anything photorealistc....;).. And I am certainly not striving to do that either. THen why should i paint and not take a picture....;)
Yup i got some sort of wacom tablet...
Thx for your nice comments...

nice!!
Great creature design. I like those hatchling style wings it's got.
I'd say the only thing tat catches my eye is that the background looks 'painted around' the head as if you've avoided the head while doing the background.
It's look like it had more depth if the background slipped underneath the head, if you see what I mean?....

sethmisek - thx m8.
Bliz.
I saw your website, thx for the watch, you had some interesting ideas depicted there.
Ok since this isnt a wip thread I wont post any updates... But i did some small changes around the head as you mentioned cause i agree that i did look wery roundpainted. However it still does kind a look like that but not quite as much. Ill leave it at this because going back and changing things always messes things up for me.. Then ill sit like 10 hours just fiddling around with other details that i did wrong....;).. So ill leave it at this state i think...;D
Thx for the comments... They spawn new evil things in my mind...;D
