The work on the animation/modelisation and render look good, but the characters looks like the Thunderbirds.

I got to see the first episode on the new clone wars series a couple of weeks ago and while it looked good and there was lots of action, the dialogue was really awkward in it's delivery like it was being read directly from a script, didn't sound natural at all. Still, there's plenty of room to improve seeing as it was the first episode, but I find myself wishing it had been done in the old 2D style, which is much more forgiving.

You can already see in the trailer the lack of emotion the voice overs have given, makes it not so pleasant to watch, and what is wrong with Yoda`s voice, so weird, is it me or dose the voice sound like they cut and past from the originals, and forgot to equilize the buffers after each sentence, jees what a bad comp they did.
I hope its just my bad hearing, or flv file whatever.

I dont see how this series will fit in with the original Clone Wars cartoon canon - or is it just George palming us off with that "the Expanded universe is nothing to do with me" bullshit again?

Not the same trailers. But thanks, it did give a better indication of the visual quality of the show.

That's exactly what Lucas wanted to do:

So it's a faithful translation of the Star Wars "prequel" universe? ;)

Visually I have mixed feelings. On the somber side I don't think the visuals work too well, but on the action side I think they work quite well indeed.
As per the VA, one can only hope that the acting at least makes par with the prequels. :P

Nothing wrong with the thunderbirs. i love Gerry Anderson's works (specialy à journey to the far side of the moon) i just was surprised by the contrast of the high quality of the architectures, spaceships, rendering etc.. and the lowres models of the characters.

Maybe I'm crazy but why not a live action television series that follows around a new Star Wars character each week in the Star Wars universe that all ties back into one larger plot, instead? Oh well......

Re: MrPositive.
Now that would be interesting - kind of like those Star Wars "Tales of..." books they did years ago.

Lucas is also planning a live action show that takes place between episodes 3 and 4. I think it will follow different characaters in different areas of the galaxy and not be one large story.

One of the best places to look is also aintitcoolnews.com. They cover the Star Wars series any time there is a hint of a rumor.
