Wow that’s a really convincing dragon, when I look at this. it really gives me the feeling they are out there somewhere.

I think the clouds could have been done better, they are to sharp and solid. example (http://www.aphoenix.ca/photoblog/photos/Clouds.jpg)

very beautiful landscape

A wonderful piece of work.

An attractive title that works well with the illustration. Wow! The pose of the dragon is great, I can really feel the emotion you've put into it :) The colours are great. For some reason my eyes tell me the shadows of the boulders seems to be a little off, but that's just me I guess.

My eyes glide from the two dragons up front down from the big dragon's tail across the birds (amazing flora on the rocks!) to the tall boulders and then finally to the dragon and mountains in the distance.

I like it! :) Fantastic work. Ellerine saglik! ^^

Thank you guys.

CGP, I've made a basic render to see the lighting conditions and took some textures from it but I made the environment from the scratch.

Syran, you're right about the clouds... I should've used reference but got lazy I guess:)

This is probably one of the best dragon art pieces I have ever seen. Everything about it denotes life and form. The lighting, the color, the textures, even a bit of story...
A master piece of fantacy art.

Five stars all the way.

BTW, I'm fine with the clouds. The focus of this piece is so NOT the clouds that you can easilly not notice their... underdoneness. I do suppose that maybe if some reason comes up that they might deserve a little more attention (like if IFX wants to publish it).

Very Beautyfull and touching, i like the subject, until now the dragons where presented only in the light of beeing dangerous and hungry creatures, and now look,a sensible relation between the mother and her calf...very inspireing....at the first look i thought is entirely 3d ...;)

The image is so cute and appealing, but even more I respect how much care and attention you gave to the landscape surrounding the dragons--it doesn't distract from the dragons, but it gives them a realistic and convincing setting, and the birds are so nice to give scale to the scene.

I really like the painting. Awesome landscape, texturing, and dragon designs...
The only thing that I really see off about the image is the scale of the large dragon. I think with that weight it would make that little mound crumble.
Beautiful work though...so much detail!

This is incredible! WOW!

Have you considered printing this out to poster size (i.e. 2' x 3')? If you ever do, I'll be your first customer! :)

Congratulations,

I love this! The pose of the parent dragon is quite natural / believable... the way the feet sit and the tail curls around the rock formation. Colors are really well done and the scenery is just right, not too much or too little.

All around gorgeous!

Thanks a lot for the great feedback. for those who's asking for prints, you can visit here: http://www.deviantart.com/print/3098859/

Zo, thanks for the comment. I see your point but we don't know about the foundation of that mound, maybe it's too deep below the surface? I mean I never thought it as a surface rock without connection to the underground level.

Thanks for this piece, man!

05-15-2008, 11:35 PM
I love it, it's like wildlife photos of animals and their offspring in native habitat. The birds flying around help sell the scale of the dragons, though a few more size cues like distinct trees or a waterfall could have helped too. Great work

Great work, I really like the details and the way you managed to draw all of these different kinds of elements so well.

I tried creating mountains in my last pic (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=132&t=638891) as well, and even though they're supposed to look very different from yours, since my scene takes place at night, I was wondering whether you could recommend me on good tutorials for learning how to draw.
(Or maybe if you'll be so kind - Could you send me a tiny portion of the pic in high resolution, so I can observe the way you painted the mountains?)

Thanks

i believe this is your best piece yet about technical abilities you can show, this is a very powerfull composition, the terrain is excellent, and the mother-kid dragons are quite moody, only the clouds could be better, i think its just another succesfull step for you becoming one of the best concept designers in turkey and global sector, congrats...

wow! that is truly amazing! I had to look at it really closely. I love the amount of detail you put into this piece. 50 hours worth of work? I am not surprised at all. That truly just blows me away. I love the composition of elements as well. I like how the main dragon is placed on the rock and how he over shadows the smaller one. The details on his skin and on the wings is extraordinary!!!

Wow!!!

Very impressive, I like it a lot. A little too much contrast in the sky, imo. If you did this so that the adult dragon would stick out more, I would recommend making the contrast a little softer. If you did this again I'd say make the light part of the sky darker or the dark part of the sky lighter.
