Ok, this is just a rough block in of a ship interior, I still need to decide on what to do with the background.
The basic idea is that an alien race sends ships to other planets and 'samples' the local lifeforms and then performs genetic manipulations to create a proxy of itself that can survive the planets ecology. Once the ship lands it becomes a lab/greenhouse to accomplish this goal.
In this image I plan to have a boy/girl (who was sampled) escape and explore the ship- The foreground will be an encounter between the human and one of the alien experiments that particularly strikes the child.

Hello.
I readed your idea and sounds really interesting. Are you trying to show all the story that you wrote in a simple image? In that case it seems like the image will be really full of things so perhaps the image could have the danger to be confusing.
On the other hand I think its interesting too that you have started from the physical structure of the scene, in this topics I allways use to start with the characters or the things more similar to humans where the action is focused So I will be keeping an eye here to see how its everything going.
Good luck.

Hey thanks, the story was meant to be an animation, but I don't know if there is enough time for me to even complete the image. I am starting the characters now so that should determine if this will be a success or failure. Everything is open to change at this point.
