Title: Jagoreth
Name: Jason Cecrle
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, ZBrush

This was my entry to the Dominance War 3. Jagoreth is a mutated descendant of humanity. His gauntlet's artifact can spread a cloud of darkness. His weapon is the void blade; an edge of nothingness. Because I will later release this character for UT3, I kept its proportions the same as Epic's standard models. Any critiques or suggestions are welcome. Tell me how I could have made it a better character, or (because UT3 characters can have alternate parts) what optional parts I should make.

The blade part of his weapon looks wrong, as if it's curving, I see why you've done it as the part it's extending from has a bend in it but it looks more like the blade isn't straight ( in a side to side view - as opposed to it being straight in an up and down view ), sorry it isn't the easiest thing to explain.

Cool character though, I like his face mask / head ?

Thanks. Yeah, the blade was tricky. The problem is that: (1) you either have the effect follow the contour of the weapon and not have a straight edge, (2) give it a straight edge but that makes it unevenly thick and thin in places, or (3) reduce the uniqueness of the weapon's shape by making it straight so that the blade can be straight. I think I went with the best overall choice at the time. However; I originally wanted to have antenna-like parts extending out from the weapon to generate the edge, but couldn't come up with a good way to do that while staying under 9,000 total triangles and still allowing the weapon to be collapsible to fit in his sheath.
