Hello

I would like to have a question on you, what should I do in Vray renderer (1.50.06.) in Max8, to be able to render for example Shadow, Specular, GI, Lighting etc. pass with correct alpha channel? Right now im not getting the result which i would like to get. The alpha channel of all the passes (Diffuse, Specular, Lighting, GI, Shadow, Reflections etc.) is always the same, and always totally white... that means, everything is visible. But i would like to have for example-in shadow pass only the shadows to be visible; in Specular pass only the specular areas to be visible etc. It works ok in Scanline. When i render it in scanline, the alpha channel in Shadow pass makes ONLY the shadows visible... But it doesnt work in VRay :-/! Im using Vray Frame Buffer. Im playing with the setting of material, renderer etc., but still nothing... I did not even found any advice on google. There are people with similiar problems, similiar threads, but never any answer...

Don't you guys know, where am I making a mistake...? Wheres the problem?

Max 8 32-bit
Vray 1.50.06.
Windows XP SP2

thats not really how it works.

you could always just use your alpha channel to cut out those elements

try to render on few times.. change materials to Matte/Shadow material and then to elements, and remmember the specular in vray is reflection-in vray mterials ofc.

anyway its not that simle - always depends - vray doesnt work greate with rednering to elements.. specialy fog, volumin.. ect.. so you will need to probably use another rednerer too,
