Synergy3D 05-12-2003, 07:41 AM Hi all,
First time poster here, just thought I'd steel myself for the onslaught of critiques and post my latest WIP here...I've been behind the scenes here for a while but thought I'd finally give back to the community, even if it's this crappy offering.
At any rate, this is a WIP for a challenge on another site, please be kind hehe :hmm:

A "x-ray" view of the hands

Welcome dude
Thats pretty cool :) ...Ah ok crits....
Your arm and socket is a bit high which gives the appearance he is shrugging.Reason being being is that at that height there is a muscle called the Trapezius, which then drops to the deltoid muscles or different heads there of,so you want the spindle to be around medial deltoid or outer shoulder muscle height :)
I would also make the scale of the upper part of the arm larger to show a bicep to fore arm type of scale. It will also show that the bicep is the stronger part or arm,at the moment they are a bit to similar.Maybe a bit more scale on the X axis would be good as well for some depth.
JMO but the shape of the outer arm housing comes a bit to far forward on to the chest I think,I would try and keep it in located in the shoulder area :)
The shape of the chest looks really good
You have taken on a pretty hard subject there making a synergy from man to machine. The one thing I always do in these situation is do a good search for reference materials.

Thanks Stu, lots of good crits there, the size of the arm has been mentioned to me before. I tried a 2d scale on it, but alas, it looked a bit odd. Maybe I could add more parts to it to give it the added bulk a bicep would give.
I placed the arm at the height it's at due to (I was thinking) the axle, if you will, of the mechanical shoulder joint would go straight into the body and meet up with the collar bone, or just a bit below it. Of course, I don't claim to know anything about human anatomy so take that thought with a grain of salt hehe.
Thanks again, I will look into your comments and see what I can do :)
