I can only imagine how this type of memory would be able to enhance the performance of our computers for CG.

Interesting developments.... but I wonder how this compares with holographic memory.

Yep my cousin is doing this
he is very smart guy, and smart stuff.
collects porsches too, umm witch is nice.
waht about holographic memory?
well I look forward to bio cybernetic memory ( in a pessimistic way)
they more it takes the work loads the bigger and faster it will get.
you see these nanowires can only be made so small and then the wire destroys it self
under the charge,
silicon vs carbon. carbon wins ;)

So for our kids ( or there kids kids )
it will be all praise our robot over lords.

:)
But Don't worry technology never moves as fast as we think it does
just look at 2001 space odyssey
buy 2001 we where meant to be an avanced culture with incredibly complex ( self aware AI)
floating around Jupiter in wonderful revolving space ships.
but no! we had freddy got fingered and the first Xbox not really HAL 9000 was it.

So its all good faster work stations are always nice.
