:bounce: finalRender Stage-1.1 (LEGAL!!!) I'm moving over to Cinema 4D and need cash to get that application. I'll still be using Max, but I love the workflow of Cinema 4D. Anyway, you'll get the original Disc, manual, tutorial CDROM and box. Perfect condition and I'll pay for the shipping if you're in the US. I'm asking $500.

Have you already tried selling it on ebay?

I didn't think about putting it on ebay. For some reason I had a feeling that I would be able to sell it here due to the type of users on the boards. Maybe I should try ebay...

i don't think that fR licenses are transferable. i was under the impression that if you registered/auth'd with cebas then that was it, you couldn't then transfer that to someone else. just a warning that you might need to take a closer look at your EULA before selling this to someone who may not be able to use it.

although if i am wrong and you CAN transfer a fR license, then i've got one for sale too, as i'm a brazil user now

I sent an email to Cebas asking if the license could be transferred to another user if I sold the product. They said that is can be transferred. I also purchased and then sold BOV from them about a year ago. So, no worries.

I think you are use to the way Autodesk\Kinetix\Discreet handles licenses. I'm stuck with 3DSMAX 4.2 for the rest of my life. (Definitely not a bad thing to be stuck with).

Note from Cebas:

Hello,

usually it is not possible to sell registered software. I don't think
Discreet allows the private selling of max. It is absolutely not common to
sell and buy software like max and finalRender second-hand.
However, if you do sell finalRender we charge US$ 50 for the license
transfer, you need to confirm in writing that you will no longer use
finalRender and we need the full information (name, address etc.) of the
buyer.

I'll pay the $50 ;)

It's a custom that you have to pay for a license transfer but somehow it's impudent.
Anyway, good luck for selling it.

Discreet only allows the transfer of licenses by merging or aquisition of a company or in a will:surprised

Newtek and Maxon don't charge for the changing of a license. Not sure how Alias does it, or if they are like Discreet.
