Woah. Looks almost exactly like that concept drawing that was on here a while ago, if I remember correctly.

Yep, exactly.

I like new "3d that doesn't look like 3d" look. :scream:

Woah that is a serious trip man, seriously.
Its all that realistic light effects like subsurface but with vibrant soft saturated colors that makes it feel the way it does - I think :) man its gorgeous. can't wait to see it animated.

Hey, I think this might be a 2d painting with some 3d elements. If you download the high res version and zoom in it looks 2d. Check out the guys hands.

Beautiful. Can't wait to see the trailer for this...

Why do they render their frames at such high a resolution as 8188x7838? Poster shot perhaps?

I'm guessing so. That would print around 70cm @300dpi and 1.4m @150.

I really hope this is a still from the film, he looks almost completely painted to me!

I would have to agree with this sentiment. Up close it looks really unfinished. The planes outside is a big example. Lots of aliasing there.

Certain aspects (door for instance) look undeniabley 3d but then others (hand, shirt, etc) look 2d.

Either way though looks quite good.

I think this is a digital concept. I.e a paint over of a 3d reference image - to set mood, color and lighting. Check out the ratouille book - they do it with parisian streets.

The painterly feel of the background against the foreground, as well as just the awesome idea of this guy's house stepping out into the sky, kind of reminds me of Howl's Moving Castle.

Man that looks soooo goooood! This is waaay better than Cars!! This is the best Pixar film ever after The Incredibles! I don't need to see the film, I already declare it better than anything Disney does!!

i can't see the hi res either. i would guess they didn't have permission to post it and it got pulled. but even with only seeing the small image, i'm well stoked!!
