Hey everyone, don't post too much over here (usually float around the cgarchitect boards) but have started to work on my first Matte painting and wanted to get some opinions on how you think things are going. I really look up to a lot of the artists around here, and would appreciate any comments you may have.

I'm still tryin to be pretty rough with it, mostly focusing on composition and placement.

Thanks for stopping by.

I think you should have painted the entire image level, before giving it the wonky tilt...

The ivy thing is crooked as hell.
So are some of the supports and the horizon line...
Crooked paintings set on a tilt seldom work well. It's usually just a lame attempt to liven up a boring composition (which this is, with the main focal point centered on the canvas, hemmed in on both sides with the bridges).

Sorry, it just doesn't work on any level for me.

thanks for the feedback, and will definitely look into changing some things around. It's a good point you make about doing the flat composition first, and them tilting it if need be...
