Hi, model was created in 3ds max and rendered with Vray. Base of model is classic primitive Box modifed with edit poly and finished with filters in Photoshop

You need higher resolution for this close a shot, I can see some polys... :)

I think the shading is nice. You just need some glare on the overexposed spot. You can do it either in vray (don't know if it has a glare system, I'm in mr which has), or in Photoshop. On the poly issue - a good thing about subdivision is that it is a modifier, so it's adjustable. You need a closer shot - no problem, increase the sub-divs. You have a wider shot - decrease them. Of course, this means that you have to go through the chore of making a sub-d friendly topology (quads, chamfers, etc), but it's a good exercise, and useful.

The HDRI adds a LOT to this scene. The realism has jumped up a few notches. However I agree with the earlier poster that the curves in the handles need more polys...

Better, but the chamfers need more segments, and the highlight on the top was cool, you should bring it back ;)

In second render i used different way of lighting.
In 1st scissors was in white room and in 2nd was in free space with HDRI map.
