Hi. I have a fairly newbie question if Vue is right for me. I want to learn more about environmental software. I am a compositor who would like to use Vue for single frame matte paintings that then can be composited and retouched later and some fly over environments.

Is Vue overkill for this and will it have a steep learning curve? I know some 3D but I am more of a 2D guy, since I am a compositor. ;)

Is there other software that is easier to use or is faster at rendering? Ha! I used Bryce years ago.

thanks for any help! :)

You will find Vue relatively easy to use. But to find out wether it suits you there is an easy way. E-on offers a free PLE version of 6 Infinite. Download this and try it out a bit. Then you'll know.
