View Full Version : rendering for pal DVD: Fields? Frames? Flicker?
McMaster 04-09-2008, 10:20 AM Hi!
What are the best rendersettings for a pal DVD?
720x576, thats clear, But should I render frames or fields? 25 per second or 50?
Any tips on how I get less flickering would be great.
The DVD is to be played on a plasma-Monitor.
I work with 3DS Max, Premiere and Combustion.

PAL standard: 25 fps, fields, odd first.
Be sure to check your colors being video safe, either in Premiere or Combustion.
Field flicker can be reduced by using a small vertical blur(1 - 2 pixels).

Frames with fields( have a look at a interlaced rendered frame from 3dsmax).
The interlacing itself happens before/while the transmission from the DVD player to the screen.
