Hey guys
i was wondering if anyone of you have experience with the new
mip_shaders ( matte / ray_switch etc) in combination with
the mi_car_paint_phen.

Right now im testing if it is possible to extract special parameters like reflection etc
and link it into for example the mip_matte.

I know the new Mia_X got the multiple Outputs option and not the mi_car_paint
but perhaps there are some hacks for that purpose.

Right now im trying to catch the reflection of the physicla sky/sun horizon
and to seperate it.

I try to separate it from my mi_carpaint_phen with the new mip_shader pack
but no luck till now

@reptil

thanks dude - i know the links - they are really helpful.
But the problem is that all the examples are with the Mia_X Material.
Try that with the mi_carpaint_phen and you will see what i mean...

Im trying to separate such passes like in the Mia but its not so easy i
think...

Perhaps i can split up the phenomon in order to get what i want...
Would be cool to "expend" this Shader - especially for automotive renderings
where separating passes are a big issue.

cheers

yes

You need split shader into different part, old way, we use rende layer, or you could use ctrl_buffer to store your buffer pass if in 32 win. break the car_paint into different thing and you get pass you want
