Ah,
I would've started off this thread with "HOW THE **** DO YOU MAKE BIRAIL 3+ WORK" but I figured it out, unlike the 2 profiles that are on the ends (which are snapped to vertex/CV) the profiles in the middle of the rails are snapped to curve because the CV's dont always lie on the curve (except for the end CV's, which is why vertex snap works)

BUT ANYWAYS....
my question is this, when attaching two surfaces (using "blend" method) first of all...
1. what does the bias mean? (goes from 0 to 1, default = 0.5)
2. and second, why does it not maintain (continuity?) when I attach the surfaces, is flattens out part of one of the surfaces.

If you know what I mean, please help, if not I'll post some pictures in the morning (1:23am right now) but Im goin' to bed right now. Any help that can be provided before I upload some pictures is greatly appreciated!
Cheers,

I did have the bias set to 1 (i figured out what it does...hehe, but, still, I dont want the curves to flatten out like that where they connect, I just want them to maintain the (continuity?) smoothness...

The Bias tells you if blending should take place In the area around surface 1 (bias = 0) or 2 (bias = 1) or in the middle (bias = 0.5).

The continuity is not maintained because you told Maya to blend the two surfaces togheter.
A beter way to attach these surfaces is to first manualy allign the CV's of the surfaces. This way you are the one that decides how the surface would attach.
You should also look at the other options given by the Attach Command.
