Hi! can someone tell me what is going on here? All I did was to cut the mesh in half, put in in a Symmmetry object and then both in a hypernurbs objecthttp://www.nhytro.de/images/torn.jpg

Maybe you must use optimize. You find this command while you are in point mode and mouse rightclick. Check all three choices.
Bye.

Thanks Manilo, but Optimize, re-allign normala and reverse normals didŽnt work

Can you show us what the mesh looks like with the HN turned off please :) ,makes it easier to comment on what could be causing the problem.

Hiya! here is a screenshot with hypernurbs turned off.

Pit: I tried rearranging the Hierachy, that didŽnt work either.

I guess you try to use symmetry on the wrong axis (and the hierachy is wrong for sure)

I think IŽve found the answer. I changed the settings support OpenGL lighting and Voila! no ripped meshes.

This is very strange Voodoo or the 3dlabs drivers IŽm using are crappy.

Hey Nhytro

Just curious what was selected wen you aligned normals?

As for the heirarchy, pit is right it should always be Hypernurbs - Symmetry - Object

Best thing to do when oprimizing and aligning normals is either hit CTRL-A first, or simply change to the object or model tool first. this way it does it to the whole object, if your in point/edge/poly mode with any selection it will only do it to the selection.

If you still can't get it you can mail it to me, emails in my sig.

Hi Kaiskai, nogo, I made sure that all the points were selected before doint an Optimize and Align Normals, the mesh was still trashed.

It is just horrifyingly strange that OpenGL lighting has somethimg to do with this. I would export the mesh to see if everything is okay
