View Full Version : Need some help with light falloff...
Kotayus 05-10-2003, 10:36 PM Im trying to make a space scene, and i have a ship-like object with a blue light on it...the problem is its washing out the star shader im using....and dulling 2 other nebulas lights...i want it to light up the object and not wash the scene out...im fiddling with falloff, but i dont know quite what to do...any ideas?

Just activate falloff in Light-->details and drag the inner/outer limits in the editor (orange dots). Not sure what the problem is.
If falloff does not work you can try lght clipping on the details page.You just set the distance for where you want the outer light to start being clipped from and then where you want it to cease completely :) ...also has orange dots for handles.Or if you use 8 use the include/exclude list.

yeah light fall off and light clipping help.
you have to prevent the areas of your image from getting over 100 percent brightness by to much, as the other areas will bleed
but if you apply them carefully enough you can get things real close together with out ay problems
