Sorry to be such a noob. anyway, i've been trying hard to get this the way i want with no luck :(

i imported this art from illustrator. I know how to extrude it but i don't want a flat surface as with fillet cap. I want the fill to be rounded.

but when i use fillet, the extrusion follows the outline of my art and doesn't create a fill.
as in this file:

this file:
http://trev.ws/test2.tif

simulates what i'm trying to achieve. I exaggerated the radius but as you see, it has some negative side effects.

I experimented with loft nurbs and that was unsuccessful.

Hope someone has a suggestion. Please :)

Thanks!!

did you try ticking constrain on

yes, constrain is on but in the one that is sort of what i want, the extrusion still follows the outline. you can see and indentation in the middle where the two parts intersect.

Simple extruding didn't work for me in most cases.

I got better results using a conect object and the free Champfer Maker plugin.
Hierachy:
- champfer maker
-- connect object
--- extrude
---- spline
Somtimes when the angles are too sharp there is no way arround to make the extrude editable,
and use a technique called solid champfer for using the object ina HyperNurbs.

With solid champfer you cover (double) every edge arround a corner ensuring to have
quads for the HN subdivision.

Dude, you're my hero! thanks!!
also, set caps to 'none' on the extrude. but worked great, thanks again!
