Title: Local Train
Name: Martin Romero
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, BodyPaint, Maya, Photoshop, VRay
The Local Train was one of the Lighting Challenges project.
The Lighting and the Texturing done by me but modeled by Alvaro Luna Bautista.
For the Lighting I used Vray however, all of the unwrapping and texturing took place in Maya 2008. I exported everything out as an FBX and imported it into 3Ds Max 9. As far as lighting I used Vray as I mentioned, one Vray light and a HDRI image.

good work Martin,
the ground on the side looks a little different, are they intend to represent snow patches ?

Hello Far,
Yes, those patches that you see are snow patches. As far as the material goes, it has a color and bump map.
cheers

I saw your portfolio. Your work can get comments about textures, color, lighting, but I like it. Your images have many concept and thinking in themself.

hey martin,
i like your train. only the thain. do you know what i mean?
the modeling looks good. and you wanna explain the train is very old. it cannot be used.
so i think the texture of train can't help you to explain.
and then the environment is not the same style of the train.
good work. welldone.:)

hey rexzou,
I do know what you mean, that you only like the train, lol. np.
I am explaining that the train is old and rusty, if you look at all the pieces I done on my website/cg gallery that's the kind of style that I go for. As for the train, it's old but I am not saying that it cannot be used, you are saying that, lol. As far as the environment goes, the style it's pretty much the same. I always keep consistency on both, the object and environment however, thanks for your comments .
Cheers,
Martin

A great model. The set could use some work. Back to the locomotive (an f7 I'm guessing) that texture is great for metal, but not a f7. Here is the prototype (This is a photo and not computer generated) this is the most beat up I've seen one.http://www.railpictures.net/images/d1/3/4/5/6345.1213934824.jpg
