Hi everyone,

I am making a street vendor vehicle and used some transparency on it's tent. But though the map is of %100 black and white, transparent areas are not fully transparent as you see. I tried to use a .png file as a color texture with transparency and it gave me the same result as well. And I have this with both Maya renderer and mental ray. So I don't know what the problem is. Any ideas?

Cheers.

how come you didn't model the tent? it is not a complex geometry...plus you would be able to control the endings better...right now the tent is cropped in a way that i guess you don't want.

but anyway, If you insist of doing it via a transparecy map try lowering your glossiness all the way down...I think that should do it for you :)

lower down your eccentricity to nil.....if you are using any other shader than lambert, Using Lambert shader will be helpful though.........

Thanks guys, yes specular was the problem and it's now solved. You are right, I should have modeled the tent as it is but I thought that this way could be faster. In other words I was lazy yeah, and maybe I will model it now :D (though it works good enough right now)
