malc0lm 05-10-2003, 04:56 PM 'Lo all, made a cartoon house yesterday and I would like some input before I proceed with the scene (I have no idea what I want to do with it).

kartoonski bolodronski
what is the story behind this image?
swedish patriotism; setting up an enviroment without any highlights; the green of the bacround?
sorry for beeing a little sarcastic ;)
but it allways brings your image further if you think abbout the story it is going to tell before u produce it. also with a still.
to make it more cartoon you could add a deformer to it. this would be a fast way to give it a "strange" look
anyhow
keep on swedening

thats cool...
ok only comments..
house model cool.
trees cool
flag pole cool.
texture/light comments: grass bit...lighter green...
more light on trees.
flag pole base to big and bright...flag to big.
different colour to steps...dunno what though.
not so high camera angle.
however this is still funky...like the deformer idea...
specular on window sills and top of door to high (imho)
also for the glass windows like the colour..but how about trying to break up block area slightly...with a gradient or something...dunno.
how about a character in there???? or maybe a sun and sky with a mountain range...all cartoon of course....
excellent work though....keep posting progress...i love all the toon stuff....
dude its a school
thats what I am thinking. but what do I know the houses indian spies live in my look like that.
anyway pretty nice. add a bit more detail though, seems kinda bare if you ask me.

Yeah its the indian spy outpost :surprised:
The flag size is supposed to be too big, I like
the ephasize on the SWEDISH flag :) Draws away
suspection on that indian issue...
Bout the specular thing.. There is no specular on any
material, only color.
Im rendering a new one (with a skylight) as we speak
but I can tell you right now that its over-exposed.
And I plan on putting this house in a bulgy (??) landscape
but I cant seem to get the grass how I want it (w/
hairdepartment)
Try a danish flag - colors would suit better in the comp - and it is much more beautiful. Heh heh........ :p ;)

if its not specular why are the sills so bright and shiney? i'd just dull it down a bit...make it less plastic...more flat colour feel to it...rather than shape given by material..or a specular with a really high width...might work...which is what kai does in soc.

The grass is giant-grass, I know :)
Been playing around some more with the scene, but
I keep getting artifacts on the dof... How can I avoid them?

(since the scene is badly lit it can be hard to see what I mean.. But the straws in the background have some weird "boxes" in the blur)
