You can catch the trailer here http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31751.html

We were responsible for all of the race footage. (Non of the Island shots)

Production took place over 7 weeks with 6-8 artists.

All of our shots were rendered in Vray using the sun/sky system and physical cameras for motion blur. The smoke was done using afterburn.

The first racing shot going down the long corridoor of jungle was about 73million polys.

The line of trees and vegitation directly next to the track and the next couple of rows in, are all geometry trees, converted to vray proxy objects. The trees any further back than that are just billboard trees.

The library of trees consists of our own modelled geometry trees and some xfrog trees.

All of the vehicles were hand rigged and animated using techniques developed from doing motorstorm1.

Some of our trees.

Looks amazing. The fallen trees are so good as are all the trees. You and your team should be super stoked.

The stills look amazing!!

Downloading trailer as we speak. Can't wait to see it!!

Keep up the good work. For such fast movement I'm surprised you went into so much detail on the vegetation. But I suppose it's those little touches... ;)

Edit: Just watched the trailer (about 5 times) LOVE IT!!
Such awesome action scenes. I always feel cool showing my friends stuff like this and saying, "yeah a bloke from the forums made that." They are always surprised. :)

I love how industry stuff makes it's way here. Keep up the good work mate, YOU ROCK!

The lighting, texturing, collisions, everything was spot on!! I like how the music picked up as it went through the clouds. That was cool :) (I know you didn't do all the editing and stuff, but the whole package was very slick).

5 well earned stars for you!!

Hi Phil,

Congratulations, 5 stars from me.

I just wanted to ask: how long did it take to render the complete trailer, on how many Vray licenses?

Thanks,
Fernando

I know this sounds naive, but... in the video, two girls that ride a bike seem to get hit really bad, one by a monster truck at the beginning, and the other at the end is going to be crushed when the movie ends! I guess I'm just getting old, and I've forgot the days spent playing Carmageddon...Of course, the technical aspect of it is amazing, almost unbelievable. Congratulations to the team at Realtime.UK
