I'm trying to generate a vast cornfield for a large pan shot 900 frames long. Due to all the items, it needs to be composited.

I've inserted video planes into Maya to generate the corn...

What's a good way to fake shadows over 900 frames since the video planes don't cast shadows?

Any tips for a fast way to blend the end of the stalks with the ground plane better?

Thanks...I'm new to all of this.
