And now, from the department of Something Completely Different...

http://www.gorblimey.com/art/fleshrot.jpg

This is the cover art I did for Fleshrot (http://www.fleshrot.com) , featuring their cover girl, Misty Graves.

I will also have a ten-page comic included in Fleshrot #1, so if you want to read it, you should buy a copy. (blatant commercialism alert!)

Is each page going to be digitally done like this? or is this cover only?

The ten pages of sequential art I did are all digitally painted, but in grayscale, not in colour. Most of the other stories in the anthology were inked traditionally, I think...but there's a lot of pinup art as well, a lot of which is, I believe, digital.

Quite good, a lot of fine details in this work.

I like that one zombie who is trying to eat her leg.

Wow, that's cool work, Socar! What are the chances of a larger version so I can make it my desktop wallpaper?

absolutely amazing work.

Just when i thought i was getting good at digital painting. Something like this comes along. Great job on everything. Lighting is consistant, great form, and amazing detail. I read about Fleshrot over at creature-corner. Sounds awesome, i'm definitely going to check it out.

here is my pitiful attempt at a zombie. :hmm:

i have so much to learn

Hmm, not something that I would recognize as your work ^^; But the zombie turned out quite good :)

Edit: something else, though: it looks like the moon is not as round as it could be (on the right).

Doris - Thanks! It's not really my usual style or subject matter, you're right--a more campy-old-comic-book look was called for here. The moon isn't round because it's not quite full...I can't remember why I did that now. I'm sure I thought I had a good reason at the time. ;)

schmu_20moi - Thank you! Will do.

suttercane - Thanks! And, hey, don't knock yourself down...I saw your thread, and your zombie is cool!

P_T - Thanks! You'd think it would hurt to have a zombie chewing on your leg, but as the art director said on another forum, Misty Graves isn't afraid of zombies...she lives with them all the time, and doesn't care if they touch her. (Well, he said it better, but it was something to that effect.)

PanzerBoy - Thank you very much! I'm not sure if I can post a larger version...I don't hold the copyright, so I'm not sure what constitutes fair use. I know I can use it for self-promotion, but other than that, I don't know.

INW klenluka - Thanks very much!

Hexodam - Thank you! :D

HapZungLam - Thanks--glad you like it. And...I don't know...maybe a slow day?

D. Phoenix - Thank you! I'll send him over to eat your leg later. (Just kidding!)

Looks great, but one thing i noticed and i need to mention, the main zombie, is he supose to have two bones in his upper arm like that? Or am i just seeing it differently?

victor throe

oh yeah

hadnt noticed that

i had noticed that the zombies left forarm would have to be freakishly long to reach her shoulder like that based on the angle of the upper arm

but thats artistic license

just like you probably wouldnt have a dead person mooching around
