free human modelling application, Make Human has been updated. It looks a little like poser but with much higher realism and designed for animation in other packages, I can see it being a great start for ZBrush/Mudbox sculpting.

ok, 10 minutes after installing it I have a very nice, low-medium res mesh with (as far as I can tell) perfect topology exported as OBJ...what more can I say?

Some might consider it cheating but personally, I'm one of those people that doesn't want to build a car every time I need to drive somewhere. I'm not sure that I would need it on a regular basis as I don't do much character work but it might be useful for static meshes in arch-vis work or my first thought was as a base mesh for ZBrush.

Certainly worth a download.

Cool program. It would come in handy for using as reference for poses, when sketching. Great stuff!
