Working with Blender, my idea is that there are so many species on Earth, with so few capable of intellegence, so the chances are first contact may be with 'animals' rather than 'people'.
Must admit, this is my first big 3d project!

There must be a God. No one else could have designed hands :) I have finished all the basic meshes (except the hand) and I am almost ready to texture the beast.

Another thing on my list of 'must look into's is dirt. Maybe normal mapping would help... I have removed the head, the sphere had about a thousand verticies and I needed the render time down. There isnt enough in my image to take almost 5 mins!

On Earth, species considered intellegent are few and far between. However, everything preys on something. Why should we find other life freindly out there?
