This is it, I'm done :)

I just finished up some OT at work so I have some time to jump into this with everyone.
I'm going to be doing an Invoker, with Air/Lightning powers. I'm thinking a female angel or succubus, but not your standard human version. We'll have to see. But something that flies and calls down lightning as it's weapon. I just finished reading a THOR graphic novel and I think that's where I'll start. But not like thor's hammer, maybe a tablet or crest on a helmet.

Doing some rough concepts. I'm leaning toward a demon type look. Still don't have any ideas about for the artifact. Maybe her crown/helm? Maybe it channels the lightning?

I started doing a more detailed sketch in PS and just started adding some color. I couldn't help myself. It's not very colorful though and I need to go back and do more black and white concepts. This is starting to look cool so I think I know where I want to take things. I'm thinking that the headdress could be the artifact?

Ok, this is it. No more painting. Black and white variants are next. Thanks Jacob :)
I just wanted to get away from the green and make the image more unified.

Some b&w concepts of Drusaa's form and a possible idea for the crown. Also thinking about the relic/staff.

Nice start! I prefer the second one regarding the staff. But have yet to see the details. Good to see that we have more air support! Keep it up.

I like the first one; it has a nice elegant form. However, I like the staff of the second one. :)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still not sure a staff is all that interesting? I just couldn't think of anything else that would work. Maybe when it's channeling the magic and lighting it'll start to come to life.
Also need to figure out her style and theme. I'm going to look at some egyptian and middle eastern armor ref. But mostly I think she'll be unclothed.
I'll start trying to work out more details as Wilzoon points out. Thanks again.

Some more work. It looks like I'll go with a nordic kind of viking look for the armor. Makes sense since I was thinking about Thor and the lighting. The armor is almost designed as is the staff/relic. I like the nude version but I don't think it meets the requirements because she doesn't look ready for combat really. Let me know what you think.

Working on the color final. Roughed in some color that I'm happy with.
I decided to integrate the logo into the headpiece and the artifact. Still need to finish the artifact.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Ted,
That's a great character, specially loved the light green hues on her tale, I like the nude version of her it’s very mystical! Although she might won’t look very protected unless her skin its made out of some special power from the artefact, if this is so...Then you are in the right track! About the weapon I think longer it is more power has, according to the circumference she can manage form the reaching point and the fact that her body it’s really long... the composition and the color are going with the right personality for her! So other than that you are going very well as far I can critic so far....:D

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm adding the armor from the concept like you guys suggested to make her more battle ready. Just working on the color image, trying to get it done. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the feedback Flork. I'll watch the tail but I may need to save that for last. I'm adding more detail from the CGTALK Logo - like the heads on the staff. I still need to work on Drusaa's face. It's a bit off right now. Here's the latest.

WOW! (http://forums.cgsociety.org/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=0#) Breaking up the logo features great idea! And looks even more fantastic! good design, the armour its looking good the colors have somehow done more life in her than what I though she could match to her personality, very oriental I may say, the only suggestion I have is that I see the helmet line a bit off from the center of the face, but it could be because of different layers or optical view of color process? Other than that it's all looking great!

Good call on the headpiece, Axel. I think I got it straightened out. Also added some more color. Refined the image. I think it's getting close to being done, plus not much time left :) Let me know what you think.http://www.terranovaart.com/WIPS/DomWar3/drusaa_concept_11.jpg

Hey Ted, it’s solved; the colors are growing fast and well! Only one thing her arm might look to skinny for carrying that big lance you might want to add a bit more muscle since she got no legs to help out the balance in anatomy, but that's all I could see to upgrade, the feathers are going nice but they look still a bit flat! Great to see the fast update, you work fast! Nice!:arteest:

Pretty much done with the color image. Added the lighting power surging from the artifact weapon staff which bears the sign of the ancient CGTALK demon dogs :) Thanks for the feedback. I need to start the orthos then I might come back to this.

Ted! Or as my office mate calls you "No-Vaccine". I didn't know you were entering this competition. Breaking up the logo was an awesome idea. I like how the concept is coming along. If you want to push the painting some more, I can give you some critique at work. :) Good luck with the rest of it.

Nice! Glad you made it to the finish line. I like the softness of the wing feathers. There's a lot of improvement like the cool and warm colors. I can't wait to see what your next project will be.

YAY! You Finish Ted, I like the wings they do look much better! And the staffs’ designs its great attribute to her personality! All the curves on her body tells How ancient and powerful can be, besides her costume as well! Best of Luck!:wavey::thumbsup:
