My character is a Nereid (or sea nymph). She is one of the 50 daughters of Nereus and Doris, also known as the daughters of the sea in Greek mythology.
Myhtological Reference:
They are called the Daughters of the Sea because that is where they make their homes but they are not sea-creatures in the traditional sense. They are capable of living on the land and flying through the sky as well as staying under water for infinite periods of time. Nereids do not have gills or fins and are in the form of young women. Hesiod uses adjectives like: comely, rosy-armed, lovely and divine but, in many cases, their names describe their powers, such as: Wave-Receiver, Truthful and Unerring.

Pherousa, or Pherusa. Her name, a participle, means "she who carries." She is associated with the power of great ocean swells.

Name: Pherousa
Class: Invoker
Element: Water
Artifact weapon: The Trident of Poseidon
Storyline:
Several of the deities of ancient that have not bothered with the problems of mortals for many an age have arisen for one purpose. To fight in the battle against the new mysterious threat to their realm and their stature in the kingdom of gods. Pherousa has emerged as a representative of the seas.
Following the downfall of Poseidon, his trident lay neglected at the bottom of the ocean. Pherousa has unearthed this most arcane and powerful artifact from the depths to help her in the fight. By wielding the trident of Poseidon, Pherousa can channel and magnify her magical powers to control great swells of water. She is regarded as the savior, for the many previous strategies to combat the enemy have proved futile. Only the power of water seems to be effective against these beasts of iron, as it can penetrate to thier core causing them to self destruct in an effusion of sparks and lightning from within.
