Jesta 05-09-2003, 06:48 PM Hey guys.....
This is a tattoo for a friend of mine that I recently completed. It's going across his entire back. Anyways, I would love to know what you guys think of it. All crits welcome.http://redcultur.com/files/angeltat_preview.jpg [/IMG]

It's nice, but that guy would never fly with that wings.

What does that mean?

the lower part of wings should be attached to his back.

ey! nice! I'd love to see a photo of your friend with the tatoo on his back! :P
btw Ildar.. Just because the lower parts of the wings aren't attched to his back, it doesn't prevent him from being able to use his wings to fly.. And like Akiman said, he could be flying because of magical reasons etc...

if you look at it in the wrong way it looks like the guy doesn't have a face

Thanks for the replies guys. I understand what you are saying now Ildar but I don't know that I agree. I was trying to make his wings more majestic by spreading them out further. Plus my friend wants the tip of the wings to touch his shoulderblades so that's another reason. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though. About the face, he is supposed to be looking directly up at the heavens so the majority of his face would not be seen. And if that doesn't work I'll just say that he is a faceless angel.hehe....Anyways, thanks for the feedback everyone.

You could just add more feathers so they'd still be spread that wide and then would also look right to say he was flying with them.

word =D
The wings look like they will make a good tatoo>
The head really bugs me though.
Even if he is looking straight up the anatomy doesnt look right.
You wont be able to go back and fix it once yor friend gets his tat.
You should take the time and fix it now. Dont be lazy and just say he doen't have a face.
Over all its a cool design

Amazing work to be walking with on your back, for the rest of your life!
no crits here, a few comments though:
I agree with rey on the anatomy of the head/neck. You don't immediatly see he's looking right up in the sky. At first i wondered where his face was, but looking twice pointed out he was indeed looking up. You should fix this, so everyone should see the first time he's looking up the sky.
Second, i would change the anatomy on his waste. look in anatomy book or something similar, and you'll see there are more muscles than just a 6pack. Maybe you're happy the way it is, but anyway...
no further comments, though i do have to admit i love the wings:D
good job, and be sure post the picture when the tatoo is on your friends back:thumbsup:

I think his "looking up" pose is fine, it may just be that the neck is a little too wide or something, I cant quite put my finger on it. And even though he is looking up , you may want just a little more detail on his face, it wouldnt be completely blank as it is in your work.
