This is what i do:
- make HN object
- make simmetry object
- put the simmetry into the HN
- make a polygon that i'll use for a piece (for example the door) and i put it into the simmetry object
- i give the polygon the right shape in ALL the views using cuts, moving points, using HN weighting if necessary etc...
- i use MakeThicker to give it depth
- once i finished the first piece i make the one that is closest to it, in our example the closest piece to the door could be the side glass, so:

ok so i start with the door i make the shape (in side view)as it should be, now do you adjust the door to the top and front views after it is fully finished, or when you have the basic shape done?
after you adjust the shape then you use make thicker ?
also when I do functions duplicate it creates a null and a 8 plane objects inside of it but only shows one point not 8 like it supposed to duplicate

thanks, i won't bother you about how you model cars till i get one done !! i promise

Uhm, sebek, read the 4th comment carefully:

If thats not clear, look at this part specifically in ALL the views

When doing tutorials, sometimes its also necessary to not be worried about doing everything step by step so precisely. otherwise new work methods would never be developed. If your not sure when to moe the points, move them when it makes most sense to you. honeslty you coudl do it after the make thicker wouldnt' make a huge difference most of the time, a small difference for sure but nothing too serious. Nice thing about modeling in 3D, is there is not perfect order, ever hear of a joke modeling technique called Xdugef? The whole principle of the joke was that you start of with a highly subdivided cube (so highress its solid whire in wireframe) and then move things around to make oyur model. As funny as it is, it oculd actualy be done for a lot of things. Points are never permanet, you can do anything to them at anytime. Its important to think like this. Don't worry about a triangle that can be made into two quads until you need to. Its not there permanently if you don't fix it right away.

Best tutorial you can get , is the universal modeling tutorial.

!)create points
2)position points
3)see step 1

I guarantee, any thing can be modeled that way.

thanks ! i think i finally understand what i need to do...
once i have my door done then i split the top points and move them up a bit then copy those and move them up combine to make one object then bridge them now i can do the window... etc i finally understand how to make sure each piece corresponds to the next.. no more questions till the whole shape of my car is done

Tell him there's a car-creating plugin and you're sorted. :)

There isn't, is there? :wip:
