I'm always happy when a new challenge begins. Though I can't usually manage to find time to complete one I always enroll and enjoy the process. There is so much creative energy around!

This time I begun my challenge thinking about the kind of human-alien relation to represent. I begun brainstorming and a word came to my mind: "Symbiosis". I just felt that was a nice take on the theme so I begun browsing the web for a little information. I typed "symbiosis" on italian wikipedia and came across this passage: "Una simbiosi biologica famosa, in riva ai fiumi, è la relazione fra l'uccello Pluvianus Aegyptius, il piviere egiziano e il coccodrillo. In questa relazione, il coccodrillo arriva perfino a tenere le fauci spalancate, per permettere all'uccello di far pulizia degli avanzi e dei parassiti sui denti. Per l'uccello, questa relazione non è solo una fonte di cibo sicura, ma anche uno scudo contro i predatori che mai si azzarderebbero ad avvicinarsi al coccodrillo per attaccare l'uccello". In short this depicts the symbiosis between Egyptian Plovers and crocodiles.The bird cleans crocodile's teeth while eating from his mouth.

With that in mind I drew the first sketch (with art rage). A human figure brushing the tongue of a huge reptilian like creature.

I have other sketches in mind, like a man 'soldiering' a huge metal-made alien's teeth or something similar however, whichever the specific image I'll try to insert these elements in the picture: gigantism of the creature, vastness of the space in which the scene is depicted, some irony.

putting colors, I'll try do decide mood here. still I have to figure out the other parts of the composition. there will probably be aliens 'at work' in the background so to explain their purpose in the story.

That's a great idea, I had thought of a symbiotic relationship as well but nothing like yours, your concept would be great just as a tight focus on the two characters and detail the heck out of it, maybe a few of the lizard guys waiting around in the background waiting their turns. I think of hippo's sitting half submerged in water.

Great stuff Enrico. Yep, the symbiosis thing is definitely something on my mind too. You've picked a perfect scenario to make the point.
