hey guys i've been a lurker here for a while now but decided to finally post :) i'm needing some help in creating an ice sculpture. i am pretty new to the world of 3d (work as a graphic artist) so any help, tutorials, or even a nice shader would be great!! i'm looking to do something like the pic attachedhttp://www.versatilemotion.com/3d/ice1.jpg

Ok, I'll take a stab at this one.
The trick to making Ice is first, using a raytrace material. The second thing you'l need to concentrate on, is lighting, and most importantly enviroment, as relfections and refractions need a good enviroment to work properly. Alot could be written about this, and there's just not enough room here to explain it all.

Also, post this question on the "texturing/surfacing" forum, and do a search(on cgtalk) using the "*" wildcards to actually get around the 4 letter search minimum.
