What is the best/most common way to go about modeling a car in 3ds max? I see all these cars and I would know how to model one myself.

by box modeling do you mean start the whole shape of the car as a box then add cuts and stuff ? isn't start with a plane and extrude the edges better ?

by the way here is a great tutorial, most in depth for Max i've seen:

sebek, yes, exactly that. That's the simplest and probably most common way. Build a box with enough segments and start using mesh smooths and edits.

All is said as far as modeling goes, this is my little addition in case you wouldn't know about it, go here (http://www.suurland.com) to get some car blueprints (there are others sites as well but this is a good place to start looking).
