This piece was created nearly entirely in 3DSMax5 the only exceptions being a few tweaks in PS such as the glow on the lightning, colour correction, noise and slight blur.
Even though it is finished I have a few ideas about some additions and subtractions which I could do to the scene but they are on the back burner for now.
The scene would be easily animated due to the nature of the geometry and this is possibly one idea I'll be looking at when I next open up the scene.
Any additional ideas and comments would be appreciated.

Wow, this is simple but nice lookin. B/W images done in cg start to appeal to me more and more. Especially those grainy lookin pre-world-war-photos.
How did you make the sea? I know that in cinema there now are things like fluids, but you said 3dsmax? Or is it simply a distorted plane with some texture on it?
The only thing i found really disturbing is the title and this url at the bottom. Dont get me wrong, a signature has to be on every image, but you could a) make in below the image, in a gray or black bar b) use another font and maybe fade it to about 50% visibility. Might sound obvious, but since this is a finished work gallery id like to see real finished images ;)

I like it! The lightning looks really weird though. Like it's not in a natural formation, and all mushed to the center looks off ballance. Is any part of that guy in the boat a photo or is it all 3d? I like how the wall of rain is comming in from the left, but it's not really noticable on your first look. Maybe make the clouds 'scarier' to the left, and make it darker? The sky doesn't really look like a stormy sky either. I think if you work on it agian you should work on the sence of impending danger. To me the guy padeling in the little raft in the middle of the ocean already makes me feel somewhat nervous, but making it more obvious that the storm is comming in on him would make it a lot better I think. The wake around the rafts looks really cool.
I really like the parts where the floating objects break the water surface... I'm curious as to how you did those? (and can we get a closeup of those parts?) I think something about the lighting looks a tad off though. Otherwise besides that and what's been mentioned, good work! :)
