I'm curious to know what makes you think we're interested in having you post links to each and every story you decide to post to your blog. Honestly, if we're that interested in your site, we'll subscribe to your RSS feed. There's really no need to spam your site's content here unless you're just trying to generate traffic to drive up your ad revenue. I'm also curious as to the decision making process that concluded with you embedding all your content using Flash. Actually, I'm joking, I'm not interested in learning about the decision making process that settled on that terrible choice.

Hi toolesbury,

Thank you for your feedback. Actually it is quite obvious that this forum section is dedicated to animation news isn't it? It does read CG News doesn't it?

Secondly, I did not choose to use Flash. I was grabbing the news releases from a news site that chose Flash for their ads. And I am not allowed to lift it off or I will be infringing copyright. They provide an embed tool which puts everything on my blog in the way they design it to be.

Thirdly, yes I am trying to drive traffic, but I am doing it in a way I deem would be beneficial to the good folks of this forum by providing up-to-date news.

I don't know if you ever thought of this, but how about linking the original article?

Hi Spater,

I subscribe to a news service that congregates all animation related news and sends updates to me. Then I update it on my blog accordingly. It takes a bit more effort if I were to visit the site where the news originates from and search for the specific article.

Also, it does nothing for my traffic. My intention is to build a strong network with CG enthusiasts and it is necessary that people come to my sites.

However I can see how this upsets some of you. So I will not be doing this in the future. If I do post, I will try to look for the source.

The advertising portion is built into the site to add value to people that may be interested in that particular topic. If you know Adsense they try to show ads relevant to the topic. If I tell you the kind of revenue generated through this you will laugh!

I apologize for any misunderstandings as my sole intention is to get acquainted with good CG artists and people in the business as my company produces a lot of CG work. I regularly want to engage and commission talents for our projects.

Does it also educate that "global climate change" happens without the hand of mankind?

Perhaps the first idea would be to recycle the DVD "An inconvenient Truth".

Musicguy,

I have to chime in here. You obviously have put some time into writing articles for your blog.
On the other hand there's a ton of things on there that you are taking from other sites without links to the original articles. You come across as just another aggregator, trying to drive traffic for your site so you can enjoy revenue from Google AdSense. It just comes across as very tacky.

Telling us that posting here does nothing for your traffic comes across as disingenuous. Your site looks like it's main purpose is to generate revenue. You will have to do better than that if your intention is truely to "build a strong network with CG enthusiasts" like CG Society has.
