In Photoshop I have access to RGB channels, and can quickly offset/move them individually to create a fake chromatic aberration effect. How would I go about this in After Effects 7?
I just need to move the Red channel one pixel to the right, the Green channel up, and the Blue channel to the left.

I can't open it up to check at the moment but in Photoshop I'd usually use the lens correction filter (I think that's what it's called) for adjusting lens distortion, CA's and vignetting...I would imagine that AE7 would have the same or similar filter

Duplicate your layer twice, apply a Channel->Shift Channel effect to each layer. In the effects control you switch off two of the color channels completeley, thisd will result in a split of the three color channels(one layer - red channel, next layer - green channel, next layer - blue channel). Set the blendmode of the two topmost layers to 'Add' and move the layers as you like.

Nope, After Effects 7 does not have the Lens Correction Filter like PS...unless I am searching like my @ss. It should be under Distort??

scrimski> Thanks! That worked 100%, and so obvious. I feel ashamed that I did not figure this out.
