View Full Version : project car...concept
BigRanS123 05-09-2003, 04:28 AM This is a new one that I’m working on now along with the others...
This is my first car, and I don’t know of any good places to look for tuts. If you can help me, post or pm me. I hope to make the car look more realistic than the concept art. I will look at some real cars for reff. I will also look at some of the awesome car pages in this thread for help.
Thanks,
Brandon Allen did the concept art.

Hmm... interesting concept. Are those reference pics? cause they dont line up :hmm:
tire looks pretty cool, even tho the caliper looks weird (spikey) but keep it up, now just post more updates!
Cheers,

oh ok. Nice. So is the tread a displacement map or is that actual geometry?
If the answer to this is yes, displacement, I have some cool tutorials on how to make geometry tread (seems better instead of displacement, in my opinion)

I did the tire with geometry and I had planed on coming in later and adding in the dirt and stuff.
A good site that I found for the Tires and stuff is at.suurland (http://www.suurland.com)
Here is the body that I made. That is not its final color....
I changed the look up a bit to get more of a real car design. I may go back and modify the look later to give it a thrown together look, but for now I’m going for a clean line car with no guns. The guns come later

For the tires, the thing that they are missing is the raised letter on the walls. (ie. BF Goodrich, Firestone, etc...)
I think with a company name and tire sizes, etc. The tires would be a bit more believeable.

nonooo!!... i love how the concept art looked like.. changing it to a realistic car will only make this a boring thread like other car threads.. but, it's only my opinion.:) :bounce:

I love it!!!!!!!! Only one thing, I really like the style of the drawings you posted, and it seems like your changing it a little. Not that I don't like it, but the style of your drawings is really nice.
