The model is very good, but there is definetely too much dof. Also the tires look too dark. Tweak it a bit more and the result will be at least two times better. :)

nice model man
very good
looks clean, good job on the light, proportion looks good
just a few personal opinion, i think u probably know, mayb u can add wipers to it too, more detail
and the gap between the door and the side skirt should b bigger, check out the real car.
and dont know is the angle or what, but the top of the rear windsheild has a bit of bump in the middle, check it out
good work man, i was going to model this baby, but i guess it'll b tough to do a better job than yours

very very nice. I really like how close you got with the glass color and paint. :) How did you make the rear lenses work the way they did?
I agree, though, you are using the depth of field (or is that a blur filter?) so much that it detracts from your image. Unless you are drawing attention to something in particular, or we are viewing the object from an extreme closeup, depth of field is unnecessary, and it rips my attention away from the car itself. Also, it is frustrating to look at something, follow it with my eyes, and then suddenly it blurs.
Also, is the front wheel angled right?
Other than that, very sweet!

The paint looks a little too metalic.
Tyres a little too dark.
Great looking renders though.
I'll take 1 in Black.
Something about your DOF that makes it look a little minature...

Very nice! Your geometry is perfect and you did a great job on the textures for the tailights and exhaust pipes especially. Any hints on how you made the taillights and headlights?
I agree with others on the dof -- draws too much attention to itself instead of on the car (at least to me). Also the pictures that I was looking at all have more chrome-looking rims/wheels.
John
thanks for all the comments
took your advice and updated the images with no DOF
celezionka - the wheels arent modelled after the stock rims
thats why theyre not chrome
:D
dimskapunk - heres the reference to the wheels...not the same color though

nice model, but the door handles are wrong. The 350z had cheap plastic door handles that look like total crap. I'm assuming the wheels are not intended to be the stock wheels.
here's a picture of it. It looks even more like spray painted plastic on if the color is other than silver. It also has three sqaure dimples in it.
http://www.nissanusa.com/m/cma/i/335/3350z_ext_si12_uppr_door.jpg
Also, the paint shader seems to be scaled wrong. It has that metal-flake look to it, but the grain in the paint seems scaled like you are looking at a painted panel from about 8 inches away. Except the camera is many feet back from the whole car. (or is it GI artifacts?)
As for the colors, the silver is a a bit lighter on the real thing and less hiny, the red and black are probably ok if you reduce the grain in the paint and cut the shine a hair for the red, the blue (besides the grain) is spot on. Haven't seen it in yellow, so I can't comment.
Very nice, and very close to the mark.

Superb job! I definitely can't do this better than u!
Being a fan of autos, I noticed a few minor issues:
1. The nuts on the rims of the Fairlady Z (as with most performance road cars) only amount to 5. Your car has 6. (You can see this in the picture of the rim)
2. The brake discs look too thin and plastic-like. They have a matt look and gives the feeling that they're stuck to the rims themselves, there's no perception of depth to them.
3. There's no gap from the doors to the tip of the sideskirts. The sideskirts are attached to the chassis, they are not part of the "metallic chassis" of the car proper. Your depiction shows them as such.

my gosh man. thats is the most truly awesome work i've ever seen!
Very good modeling, but the textures are too reflective to me, and yes the wheels are too dark, and brake disk too plastic.
Try to change this and render it with a HDRI map with GI.
I,m waiting for final version,
Overall, very good job.
the stock rims and slightly different materials

Great job on the modeling...Only thing is, and this is pretty much with every car I see modeled in 3D...No-one ever does the inside of the fender well...And since it's a stock car, there is no drop, so the wheel gap is shown...

That is my car, in case you're wondering...You can see the inside of the wheel wells have extra paneling...It's there for support of the chassis...And it also allows for flares to be bolted or molded onto...
You not modeling the inside is not really a big deal, it's just I've NEVER see a 3D model with full paneling and since no-one really creates modded cars in 3D, you can see inside of it due to the stock look...Anyways, to stop this post from further cluttering the boards, incredible model and job well done...
ruM's OUT...

great model. I would work a little on the environment test, the car seems to stand out a little to much. But still a great model

Nice model! But as far as the door handles go, you should put the pre production door handles on there instead. I saw this car at the Melbourne car show in 2001 and the door handles were aluminium arches. I think I have a photo. I'll have a look when I get home from work...
I like the old wheels better..but oh well. Very nice model man :buttrock:

Nice job, IMO the thing that needs the most attention is the wheel arches, they flatten out in spots, ruins the flow and realistic-ness of the car. Very good work!

I dug up my photos from the melbourne car show, and although it is not very obvious the handles are different from yours. They were kinda curved aluminium things... I also have one of the interior if your'e interested..
